Before leaving our grandparents and heading to Daejon, we went to eat rainbow trout sashimi at a local eatery. Outside, the trout are raised and primed until they are ready for consumption. While my sister was playing with a caught butterfly, the chefs nicely cut the fillet into sashimi to eat with vegetables and Korean pepper paste. The fish had an incredibly soft texture and tasted extremely fresh! The difference between this sashimi and the previous set from the ocean is this sashimi was fresh water fish, not salt water. The taste is slightly different, but still incredibly fresh! **Scroll past the pictures for a bit more culture**
Before we left my grandparents' house, we had to bow to our grandparents in a motion known as juhl. There are very specific motions involved, and is a part of our traditional culture. It is a respectful motion given to one's elders. My sisters also did this with my dad.
